Problem
Converse was looking for ways to promote Rubber Tracks, a community-based professional recording studio in Brooklyn, San Francisco, Toronto, and Los Angeles, in their new headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. They invited several bands to their new recording studio, tasking us with developing a unique way to capture their performances.
Solution
We created a captivating 360-degree video and mobile virtual reality (VR) experience, accessible on any device through a modern web technology stack. This immersive experience allowed fans to witness bands recording in a studio, while incorporating interactive hotspots that triggered interviews with band members, revealing exclusive artist content to enthralled fans.
We then captured seven live performances of The Subways, PINS, Chelsea Wolfe, Beach Slang, Frightened Rabbit, Basement, and Twin Peaks.
Afterward, we developed a site that served as a hub for all seven bands' landing pages and granted each band a unique link to their digital experience. These bands then shared their links on social media, encouraging their fans to join them in the studio experience.
The project received recognition from Awwwards and The Webby Awards.
